In this 7 Day Shoulder Mobility Challenge you’ll prime your shoulders with awareness and effort for each individual bone, tendon, ligament and muscle that makes up the shoulder from the inside-out, which ultimately gives you range of motion to do the things you want to do with confidence.
We’ll be working with the wall, a broomstick, blocks, belt and the floor to include isometric exercises that “look“ simple, but will get your heart-rate up and the chi energy flowing to all the right parts within the body and mind. You’ll practice and learn a variety of mobility training exercises to prepare the shoulders/arms for asana practice, weaving all parts together to flow as one, flexible and strong.
Why is mobility important?
Mobility is a vital contributor to reducing the risk of injuries as well as improving technique and range of movement. The shoulder is a ball-and-socket joint and has the greatest range of motion of any joint in the body. Because of this mobility, it is at risk for injury or degenerative problems. It’s important to note that flexibility alone (aka the ability of our muscles to lengthen passively, without engagement) isn’t enough to have good mobility in our joints, we also need strength to stabilize whatever position our body is in.
With a daily 20 minutes shoulder mobility work-out you’ll build strength and gain mobility range in specific areas in your shoulder’s functionality und cultivate muscle memory that improves your overall shoulder movement and makes you feel “safe” in practicing asanas or yoga flows.
